Admission is highly competitive. The most recent entering class (2008-09) of 3,256 was drawn from 18,598 first-year applicants.

  • Among first-year students, 88% ranked in the top 10th of their secondary school classes.
  • The mean combined SAT score of the 2008-09 entering class was 1322.
  • The mean combined SAT score of the 2008-09 entering Echols Scholars was 1466.
  • The mean combined SAT score of the 2008-09 entering Rodman Scholars was 1462.
